On Pokerstars there is a freeroll on the tourny page that has a max of 12,000 people to enter runs about every 2hrs and 48 min. The top 99 wins a seat into a tourny with a 2,000 prize pool. I played in it today and got in 68th I will have to register for the final by this weekend. So, if u don't want to start a real money account and are willing to spend some time and get a little bit lucky in the process check this freeroll out. They also have ones for Stud, Omaha hi/lo and Razz. By the way on Monday I placed 215th out of 5,000 entrants in the WSOP Freeroll was very close to the top 50 better luck next week.

That's a good find, nick. I recently started my PokerStars account so I could play in the weekly WSOP freeroll, but this one seems pretty good, too. I can't believe you made it that far... nice work! Let's hope you do even better in the 2nd round tourney you qualified for. Let me know when you are playin.
I didn't realize they had non-hold'em games. I'll have to check that out :) I was thinking about playing later tonight if I can get out of work early enough. Maybe that and the WSOP freeroll. Woo!

I am not a fan of free rolls (take lots of time) but here is one free roll you can try.
2+2 pokercast freeroll Sunday morning.
First place is 50000 FPP.
There is a password. I think this week password is takedown

I freeroll when I'm watching a movie or trying to distract myself some work, so I like 'em :) I can't play for real money while I do those things, so I might as well do the next best thing. Thanks for the tip, but what's an FPP? Full Tilt points?

frequent player points.
Jason, If you acquire enough of these on pokerstars, you should start playing in the 70FPP freerolls that get you into the Sunday $100,000. they are 10 seater tournies and if you win, you get a free seat in the sunday $100,000. I think first place takes $20,000 (and I believe top 1500 pays- 1500th gets you like $20) There are usually about 15000-20000 people in these big tournies, but they drop like flies and the tournaments are usually only like 3 hours tops. These are the freerolls Craig and I usually play if we win a seat. Otherwise, you can always buy your way in for $11. I like winning a seat better though!!!

Ok, I think I am kinda smart when it comes to computers, but I must be having an idiot day. How the hell do I check how many frequent player points I have in PokerStars? I do not have a money account, but I can't seem to find any sort of cashier area. They also don't have a login on their website, as far as I can tell... WTF, mate?!

Thanks for the FPP tip, Darren. I'll look for it.
I just tried out the PokerStars NL Hold'em (Hubble's) and Razz game, as well as the WSOP qualifier. No big surprise, I lost them all :p Man, PokerStars has a bunch of those freerolls... You could play all day. I think I really understand what you were staying now Krishna. I was cool with the once a week, but I don't want to get hooked on them and play every day :)
Razz
The Razz tourney was pretty slick. That's 7-card stud low-ball with A2345 being the nuts. I've never really played Razz before, but I managed to get 357th out of 4368 players. Probably a lot of luck, but I usually got my money in on the right end of it. I suffered a mega-suck-out for the knock-out, but whatever :p
WSOP
In the WSOP qualifier, I lasted about 10 minutes. I had in the big blind, a couple people limped, including the button, and I checked. The flop came , the big blind bet, so I just smooth called. The button min-raised, the big blind called, and I smooth called again. Should I raise here? It wouldn't have affected the outcome, but what would you do?
The turn is the , so there is a flush draw, so I bet 3/4 of the pot. The button goes all in, so I call. They show . The river is the and I'm out. :p

Hey Jason,
I believe you downloaded the wrong PokerStars. The version you have is only the "free money" version it seems. There is another version you can download that allows you to play with "real" money. I would send you the link, but I am currently at work and don't have access to it. Just type in pokerstars on google and I'm sure you will find it just fine.
The FPP system is only set up to give you the points when using a "real" money account. I have found you make the most FPP's when in cash games. The more hands you play, the more FPP's.
I'll talk to you more about it later. but you should really try and get on there and take advantage of some of the perks!!

ya, I was playing on PS.com last night. They have a steps (ladder) qualifier. 7 steps. I made it to step 3 last night in only two games! only 4 steps to go! <now I've jinxed it>
1st step is like $7 for a single table qualifier. get 1st or 2nd (single table) and you advance.I also tried the PS freeroll one but there's like 1000+ people and need to finish in top 50 to advance. After that, there's probably another huge game you need to place in. But they have these freerolls every hour at 5 minutes after the hour. And the price is right.

how often is the 2+2 forum one and how do you get the password?

To get password you have to listen to 2+2 pokercast. They have poker celebrities as guests.
It is pretty good show. They give out the password during the show randomly so you almost have to listen to whole show.
You get to know whats going on in poker world (tournaments).
Once in a while I learn a tip or two about strategy.

The FPP system is cool but I am not sure if it is better than rakeback.
The have a conceirge and you can buy lots of stuff including book using FPPs.
High volume players but a car using their FPPs!!
Dario Minieri supposedly bought a cool car (Porshe or Ferrari) using the FPPs.

Yeah, I wouldn't be looking to get a bunch of stuff off of FPPs, and I definitely would use rakeback over that, but if I'm gonna be freerolling and messing around, it seems like taking advantage of the system is good. Thanks for the tips and info, everybody!
