I'm still not sure whether this should/should not be illegal, but at least this one looks like it might have been an actual gambling op, instead of just the usual story of police wasting time and money on a legal home game. To wit:

      • There were 4 tables with dealers
      • According to the police, they were raking the pots
      • $48,000 was seized
      • They had a security guard and were in a commercial building

So yeah, that doesn't sound like a friendly home game. Lesson? Play in your home and don't rake!

    • This reminds me a lot about the Badger Poker game I played in while I was in Wisconsin. There was some serious action going on, and it was in a bowling alley (during public hours). At least they weren't raking. I still don't understand how that would fly, but I was happy with it :)
