Garden City on Sunday

    • Adrian and I are considering hitting the GC tourney this Sunday. If not that, maybe the cash game in the afternoon. Who's with us?

    • I might be interested if the party doesn't go too too late (like that will happen).

      What's the buy-in?

    • Yeah, I will be skipping the tournament if the party goes too late. I'm trying to convince Adrian to come to that, too. Work him over tonight :)

I don't know what the buy-in or details of the tourney are. If anybody knows or if somebody can find it online, link it in. I think it's something like $180 and a more limited number of people (like 80?). Alexis, help?

AFAIK, the cash game is $100 max buy-in with 1/2/3 blinds ($1 on the button). A limp costs $3 and the max bet at any time is $100.

    • Deep stack seems to be overused by card rooms.
GC tourneys have bad structure. Blinds get up fast and the tourney director randomly decides to skip a level because it is getting "late".
I am playing some kind of special tourneys here in September.
I hope they have good structure.

    • While I've never witnessed a Tournament Director arbitrarily skipping a blind at GC, I have to agree that their structure requires one to get lucky or gamble in order to survive.

You would have loved the structure on Wednesday at Bay 101. I busted out 13th out of 166 players after FIVE PM! (we started at 9:30am). 30 minute "kind" blinds. Wish I brought home a structure sheet. Almost nine hours of play. I was exhausted. Paid down to 18.

I have 2 big tourneys this weekend at Bay with similar structure but way more starting chips - 10K on Sat and 20K on Sun. It will be hard to go back to the rapid fire tourneys after that. Decent tournament structures spoil the very crap out of you.

      Good luck on Sunday!

    • Good luck to you, too, Alexis! (Even though you might already be done.)

We are leaving for casino soon. Woo woo :)
