   • I just got an evite from a friend who I used to play Poker with last summer. Weak Players...If I say that, it actually means that!

     What do you guys think?

     It's definitely been too long since we've had another 40-person poker battle royale.

     PLEASE READ THE WHOLE EVITE! Some things have changed, some things are the same.

     NEW THIS YEAR:
     1. Payment in advance is HIGHLY recommended. If you buy in up to 48 hours before the tournament...
     (a) The price is $50 (40 for prize pool, 10 for pizza/beer/etc).
     (b) Your seat will be reserved even if you show up late.
     © You can get your money back up to 48 hours before the tournament if you have to cancel (Emergencies are an obvious exception).
     If you buy in with less than 48 hours before the tournament...
     (a) The price is $60
     (b) Until I have your buy in, the seat is still up for sale.

     Last tournament we had a full roster until about 7 people no-showed. I'm trying to prevent that from happening again.

     2. We're gonna try out antes for the first time. Starting about an hour into the tournament, there will be a small blind, big blind, and every player at the table will chip in an ante. This should hopefully even out the eliminations throughout the day and make for a more fair tournament.

     3. I'm going to get legit trophies. You deserve it because you're a big winner.

     STRUCTURE
     1. 40 players on 5 starting tables.
     2. The payouts will be $640-$400-$240-$190-$130 for the top 5 places, which could change depending on the number of late buy-ins.
     3. Each player will start with 1200 in starting chips; blinds start at 10-20 and increase every 0:20 minutes; there will be a 20 minute break after every 1:40 of play and prior to the start of the final table. Last time, the event lasted 5-6 hours total; this year I'm shooting for 6-8 hours.
     4. Try and be there by 1:30. At that time I'll start filling any seats that haven't been prepaid.

     REGISTERING

     1. PREPAID - You can either paypal $50 to XXXXX@gmail.com (recommended), give the $50 to me in person, mail a check to XXXX, San Jose CA 95130, or otherwise contact me by email or phone to arrange something.

     2. You MUST reply to this e-vite to reserve a seat for this game. Seats are granted on a first come, first serve basis. If you're signing up a guest, please put their full name in the text of your response.

     3. If you'd like to come but not play, please respond 'maybe'.

     4. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BRINGING YOUR OWN CHAIR. Everyone that can should bring extra seats for their absent-minded friends, but I'm not going to be responsible for coordinating the arrival of 40 chairs.

     5. Please mention in your reply to the e-vite if you can bring a table and/or a tabletop if needed. I'll let you know before the game if you should bring yours.
