Hey Gang,
I have $100 worth of Planet Hollywood vouchers. Good for $10 USD value on food, beverages, merchandise, tax and gratuity. No exchange for cash. If anyone is going to Vegas anytime soon, you are welcome to have them. They expire 12/31/08.

I'll write this in a general manner so you can find it for the November deep stack games as well as any other upcoming ones.
Go to the Venetian website, hover over their "Gaming" link in the top navigation and then click on "Poker Room" in the drop down. That should land you here. From there, click on the "2008 Deep Stack" link and check out the PDF for the November games.
If you need any more info, just search for it. That's what I would have to do to give you more details. the bottom line is they are supposed to have a great structure.
Hope you can make it :)

I don't know if I have ever played there. I'll check it out. Once I get my plans solidified I'll let you know when we'll be there. Perhaps we can get together.

Yes, I just checked out Arnold Snyder's website (http://www.pokertournamentformula.com/las_vegas_poker_tournaments.htm) which has a very complete list of the tournaments in Vegas. The one I've chosen for me and my buddies is at Planet Hollywood. It's a $50 buy-in, but not a "luck fest" according to the site. They give it a patience factor of 3. (Most low-buy-in tourneys are a 1 or 2.)
As for Planet Hollywood's poker area itself, I haven't been there yet. I was there when the place was still The Aladdin, and it wasn't bad. I can only assume that since they renovated the entire casino only about two years ago (during the big poker boom) it must be pretty good.

Interesting website. I'll have to check it out more. It doesn't talk about the special tournaments like the Venetian or Caesar's Deep Stack games as far as I could tell. I wonder what the "patience factor" is in those games. If I ever want to play in a normal game, I'll have to try PH out. It seems like a lot of people like their tournaments.

Venetian and Ceasar's are known in Vegas to provide the best consistent deep stack tournaments. Patience factors are much higher than normal. You can't beat 40 and 60 min blinds. Trust me you can't go wrong.
I was just playing at the Venetian on Monday and personally I think its the best poker room in all of Vegas. (Belagio is close second because you can always count on seeing a poker pro there).
Venetian is massive, has attractive girls walking around giving massages for $2 a min, and they also serve food to your poker table. Not all poker room in Vegas do this. I'll be back in Vegas on the 21st of Nov. Can't wait.

My favorite part about the Venetian is the table/chair setup. That tables are actually far enough apart where you can walk around them 2 or 3 people wide and still not bump into to people. Also, the nicely padded chairs can be adjusted up and down. These simple things make a world of difference. And it doesn't hurt that the Grand Lux cafe is right across the casino floor :) YUM.

Phil, the Planet Hollywood tournaments are really good for the buy in, AND some pokersoup people have done really really well there. :-)
They did raise their buy-in prices though. The 2pm and 7pm ones are $80. Other ones (2am and 10am) are $60. Be sure to get a players card (right by the poker room) to get some extra starting chips. Good luck.

I definitely agree...they have the most cushioned seats and wide tables. I happened to find that there were a lot of donkeys and fish (both tournament and cash game). Ah, that is why I love Vegas poker. Tourists come from far and wide to treat poker like a game of roulette or a slot machine. They 1-3% of the rest of us patient poker players are can wait patiently and have the baby give us their candy...
I've decided to take a shot at following tourney:
Venetian Hotel
2008 Deep Stack Extravaganza
Sat, Nov 22nd
Event #22 - No Limit Hold'em
No Rebuy/Add-ons
Buy-in $500
Complete game schedule found here: http://www.bluffmagazine.com/tournaments/2008-Deep-Stack-Extravaganza-551.htm
I'll let you know how I do.

Awesome, BAB. Good luck. Adrian and I are going to hit a bunch of those 11/11-11/18. Should be a good time! I'll post on my blog how it goes down and see hopefully I can give you some advice... We've never played in these tournaments before.
I'm not going to the Tahoe WSOP events cuz of the Vegas trip. I had to choose between them :/
