Back then I didnt really practice good bankroll management and got lucky to move up quick limit wise. I started out low online just cause I was new to nl and didn't really trust online early on. I think the best times to play obviouly start on thurs night and go until Sunday nights. It starts thurs nights cause college kids are up late and dont have class on fridays for the most part. Also Euros work 4 day weeks so their weekends begin on thursdays as well. If your up at like 1 3am thats the best cause you get euros drunk as hell coming from clubs that close at 7 or 8 am over there. Sundays are good during the afternnoons cause you get guys steaming from the Sunday majors and you get a few donks who made decent cashes and are taking shots in the cash games. As far as how you should play at each level it is player dependant of course . I think getting away from thinking what limit you are playing and analyzing how your table dynamic is ie loose passive on your right, overly tight players in your blinds is a better way to think imo. That will tell you who to play abc against and who to mix your game up with. What your image is at the time and blah blah blah.
