     I saw the short animated film that this full-length feature film is going to based on some years back (I think at the Portland Film Festival - Graham, correct me) and I thought it was very slick. This guy is good. Watch the short.

   • It was at a Spike and Mike animation show in SF actually. (Side note: Remember the short where everything was labeled like a Highlights children's magazine? It was about an idol that made jewels out of flies and the kids that took advantage of it. I gotta find that one again.) Anyway, 9 was super-good. I just watched the trailer and it's looking like they're going the epic route, which is somewhat disappointing. I really like the minimalism of the short, but how far can you go without dialog, right? The potential is there for something great, so I hope they don't overdo it and turn it into a Pixar movie. I'm more excited about this movie than I've been in a while. His animation is soooo good! It's wait and see time. . .
