EV+ satellites at the Venetian

    • I played and won one $80.00 satellite at the Venetian. Pays $340 for top two places (300 in these weird hexagonal tourney chips and 40 in cash). Anyway, the trick is to play as late at night as you can. I think the last one's run at midnight. Most of the players were dead tired and pretty much gave up after about 30 min. The blinds are 15 min. and you start with 1500 chips.

    • SATELLITES INTO WHAT? THE DEEPSTACK?

    • These are kind of universal satellites. You can use the satellite chips for any of the tourneys they run there.

    • I tried a 12:30am one of these for the $560 game. It was pretty easy to get fourth :p The action was crazy and people were definitely making bad plays. I didn't get any cards, but did all right without going to a showdown. Nobody wanted to call me for some reason, which was unusual and great. I folded so much this last week... Unbelievable, really. Anyway, I ended up running into in the big blind on a steal. Oh well. Playing tight and overcoming the gigantic luck-sack stacks would gave been tough, but given 2 or 3 shots, I'm pretty sure I would have won one. That's good +EV, but maybe not worth the time?
