A friend mine and I are always looking for new home "CASH" games. Aggressive, Passive, Assertive doesn't matter. Just steady cash games at someones house where you don't have to pay a ridiculous rake and high blinds.
There are plenty of home game tournaments. We're not looking for that.
Are there any steady home cash games hosted by "pokersoupers" in the bay area that are open to new players?
My dream is to find a good home cash game for every night of the week, so no matter what day I need to get in the live game action, they'll always be a game.
Bay101's 5-200 spread limits blinds and rakes are a joke. $5 on the BB, $3 on the SB, and $2 on the button, with i think at least a $3 rake. plus really can't protect your hand many situations with only a 200 max raise if the pot is already over a $100 bones

I think it's a 4.00 rake though. Isn't like 4.00 flop seen like 5% cap with 2.00 rake no flop or something gay. Don't expect it to ever go down, that would be madness.
Lemme kno if u find any games in south bay.

The spead limit games in the bay area are an absolute joke. 2-3-5 with a rake that big and a max buy in of 300? I mean wtf. ONly saving grace from this is that the players are so bad these games are actually profitable. If you get a table full of just half thinking nit wits this game is almost unbeatable or not worth the hourly in the long run.

on a fri and sat night garden city is a nice game even with the rakes the 100 spread has max buy in of 200 and the 200 max has max buy in of 500 now sometimes there are really idiots with 2k stacks

but it's still basically a short-stacked game (ie high variance) with a huge rake right?

not really
500 with a BB of 5 it is a big rake but given your skill its still completly profitable your a better player than me and if i can walk in with 100 and walk out with 800-1,200 profit in a 6hr night i think you could clean up
its just a game of position and need to resist bluffing the stations and youll do fine esspesially on a fri sat night

haha is it more fun? i usually 4 table 6-max online where there is a big decision every 2 minutes or so... _ thx for the confidence in my game though i'm sure ur not bad player urself... you need to get more value with quads though dude, especially if your villain is good enough to talk themselves into a big hero bluff catch

online VS live is no comparison when you factor what you risk vs profit given that you have so many options but LIVE is all about the social atmosphere and more info easier to beat up the donkeys live than online
yeah ill work on those quads we should do that session you were talking about i awhile ago maybe this fri

What? I will say that coming from the perspective of being a live limit player back in the day, I used to have the idea that live is easier to win vs donkeys, but this statement is false. The more hands you play vs bad players the more opportunity you have to win more money vs them. The idea that just because it is live you can win more through "tells" and such is a falacy for the most part. The only advantage I see live now is that there are more donkeys per table live. Unless this online regulation is figured out I see the gap in profabitlity between live and online shrinking. What I think your failing to realize is the rake is bigger live, you have to tip the dealers, buy food, drive there, and even factor in maintenence on your car for the miles you drive to get to the casino. When playing poker for profit every factor should be considered when it comes to your net profits.

its not really the tells OK for me live is easier to win at maybe i concentrate harder maybe its easier for me to find the fish not sure but onine is definatly alot more profitable that is definatly unquestionable no one can argue with that except for the winner of MAIN EVENT how about live is more entertaining and enjoyable is that better. LOL but they essentially are two different animals

online play - awesomeness in every way - nothing can top it
live play - pure adrenaline pumping drug
no limit - music to my ears, porterhouse steaks with all the trimmings (quoted from Law Abiding Citizen)
spread limit - tolerated nuisance
pot limit - for the meek and faint at heart
limt - donkey paradise and fish tacos

no limit - Dying
spread limit - Not even worth playing
pot limit - The most skilled of all games when played deep
limit - Will be back in a big way soon in mixed game form. A game where donkeys have no clue they can't win

interesting take on those bullet points. i didn't know that about pot limit. I am improving on my omaha game only for tourneys though, haven't tried it with limit yet.
And I want to resusistate NL at least in my circle of acquaintances. I'm really starting to think about putting together my own regularly scheduled cash game. Including beer, food, 300 max buyin, ulimited reloads, 1/2 blinds, play until early early morning, uncapped staddles, straddles from anywhere, run it twice/3 times. etc. Just like High Stakes Poker and when i do get it going people are going to love it. Not sure when yet though.
