Though word is not yet official, numerous media sources including Gambling 911, Bluff Magazine and PocketFives.com, are announcing that efforts to get US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner or Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke to delay the implementation of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, have been successful.

Referencing unnamed high profile sources, implementation of the UIGEA- originally scheduled for December 1st- will apparently be pushed back till June, possibly allowing for members of Congress who have been outspoken against the UIGEA since its inception- like House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank- to get key legislation pushed through that would either eliminate the law or effectively render it moot.

      Thank you lord.

    • Christmas came early this year. It has been pushed back to June 1st. Plenty of time for Barney Frank to get his bill passed. Ship Ship. Funny how it took the Horse racing and State lottery lobbies(the only two lobbies to get exempt from the UIGEA) to get this done since they finally realized banks were going to stop all Gambling transactions since they couldn't deem if they were legal or not

Yeah it just kinda irks me cause the horse racing and lottery lobbies were not to worried (cause they were exempt ) and happy(more gambling revenue for them online) when Bill Frist® threw the UIEGA on the Port Authority bill last second to appease some republicans who thought it would keep their voters during election time by following their "family values" agendas. A desperate move that backfired on a few of them but still was implemented due to the fact that there was no way that Port Authority bill or any bill that has to do with homeland security was not going to pass. Trust me if those lobbies saw this coming they would have stopped that last minute add on for sure. They own the republican party. That is actually why this is really good news for poker players. You are going to see a bunch of republicans sign on to vote for Barney Frank's bill now
