    • Since this is the time of year all us poker players love. The greatest Vegas excuse on the planet,( WSOP time!) I figured let's get some suggestions on our favorite places to eat. Breakfast lunch dinner, buffet, dives, expensive it all don't matter. Here are my top 3

      Cafe grand lux- Venetian
      Delmonicos Steak House-Venetian
fat burger- strip near MGM grand

      Ok let's hear some others

    • For your Italian food fix, I'd suggest Battista's Hole In The Wall.

1 block off the strip. Directly behind The Flamingo.
Atmosphere is interesting. Lots of chatskis(sp?) and old Vagas photos. Low light. Live music.
Food is OK (but not great).
Prices are decent factoring the location. Vegi lassangna w/ meat sauce in a good value.

The big bonus: all the table wine you can drink included w/ dinner!

Actually, I probably won't have found this place on my own. My old man knows one of the co-owners so he recommended I go there and say hello for him.

    • ok but does anyone else see the weirdness of a "Vegi-Lasagna with Meat Sauce" ???

Mesa Grill @ Caesar's never disappoints and does the best Filet Mignon...and it's directly across from the poker room ;)

I see the weirdness but lasagna w/ meat baked-in is like $8 more than vegi version. Sauce w/ meat is no extra charge. And portions are generous so there's no way of leaving that place without being completely full. And $8 could be another hand of poker and the $1/2 table! It all comes back to poker.

    • Mesa Grill is really really good for weekend brunch too.

    • do not forget the Hofbrauhaus.... yummy chicken schnitzel & of course... beer! lots of it... and... as an added bonus... the S & M esque paddle lady with the Jager shots {you have to be there}

    • p .s. ... the steins of beer are more than $8.... but I'll sip at least 2 anyway... win back my dinner @ the Hard Rock across the street..

    • Has anyone tried Blt in the Mirage? It's supposed to be unreal good if you like hamburgers, and some crazy alcoholic milkshakes.

    • I second the motion for Grand Lux at the Venetian. However, I'll be eating, sleeping, and playing poker for about 11 days straight at the Rio. How about some good recommendations for places I might not know about there? Of course, I know about the cafe on the way to the WSOP area and also the "sports bar" type place near the casino. I think those are the only 2 places I ever ate at there.

    • Just go to Circus Circus for the foot long hot dogs...

    • Rio has the claimed largest buffet in all of Vegas. I think its $24.99 for entry. There is a LOT of food. Its decent. Just because its the largest doesn't mean it has the best food though...there are definitely better tasting buffets in Vegas but just not as much regional world options.

I've always liked Diablo's Mex restaurant, delicious food, happy hours, the whole restaurant is like a patio... the walls open up to the outside... http://www.montecarlo.com/restaurants/restaurants_diablos.aspx

Also, there is bar that is made up of 100% ice "Minus5 Ice Lounge" in Vegas for those interested. personally, i'm not. http://www.minus5experience.com/
