Larger leagues in the Sacramento area?

    • We seem to have quite a few leagues of players in the Sacramento area: the Gold Rush Buddies, the now very famous Bad Beat Poker, and probably some more. If you manage or are part of one of these, and would be open to expand your league, merge with or join another league, please respond and say so. The PokerSoup administrator has kindly accepted to put us in contact directly by email in such a case.
      Cheers!

    • Bad Beat Poker League starts back up again this Saturday, July 17th. We expect to have 12-15 players this time around. I'd be open to playing in some other leagues, but this one is expensive and not sure we can afford to play in other leagues.

I'm wondering how much does it cost to play in other leagues? How do you structure it?

NOTE: If Tony is still alive in the main event, the start of our league will be postponed until he gets back.

    • I think Frederic is primarily interested in joining the fabled BBP league :) I know that the enrollment is set to private so the public can't request to join the league. Ernie, do you know if Chris is open to allowing more people to join the league?

    • You are right, Jason, in that I'd be interested in joining the BBP league (Chris?!), but that is not my primary goal here. We've been struggling to reach critical mass to maintain a monthly game within our GRB league. For that reason, we keep very low buy-ins ($20, possible rebuy on first rounds,) usually short stacks (3,000) for 2 games per night, and do not keep the money toward a big event at the WSOP or such.

I would encourage Ernie, or other interested BBP players, to join our league, at least to be notified of upcoming games, and increase our ranks. The more, the merrier! No?

    • BAD BEAT POKER LEAGUE starts our new season tomorrow in Folsom. If you're serious about joining, go ahead and email me at eguerra@cwo.com and I'll put you in touch with our leader Chris.

It's $110 / month and we neeed to make sure everyone who joins is able to commit. Chris says he's open to new guys, as long as you can commit financially and fit in with our current group.

I can't wait to take everyone's money and go to the main event next year.

    • The "Bad Beat Poker League" would be willing to accept perhaps 1 or 2 people max. Ernie will be in touch with me throughout the next couple of days. There is a way to join late (after 1st tourney). It is too complicated to share here. Willing to share our concept. It will work on a smaller scale (cheaper buy-in).
