Online Bankroll Part 5: The Steam Train is in Town

I am back here for my latest post today I had a excellent day playing 3 tables of 25/50cent NL. I ended up making 230 bucks and now the bankroll is at 1,175 and looking forward on things to come. The session consisted of patient play a little bit of luck with beating with other then that it was by the book poker but a bit looser. I think this strgedy is working very well in my favor so with this way of playing hope the same type of result will be forth coming. Until my next post may all your pots be monster.

Online Bankroll Part 4- Surge to a Grand

Hey everyone how has play been for everyone? lately on Cake Poker it has gone well last time I left I was at 683. Now I am currently pushing a grand right now sitting at 950 and feeling good about my play. I am also feeling comfortable about playing multi table sessions, and not be intimidated and unfocused. I am hoping the next time I am writing on here, I will be over a grand.

It takes time to grind away on multi table sessions. The games that I am playing so far I break it down some sessions will be 4 table 10/20 cent. Others will be 2 tables of 25/50cent also, sometimes I will splurge and play single table 1/2 and just play focused and confident but not feel intimidated.

I know it is outside of my bankroll but I have learned "You can't win what you don't put in the middle" if your willing to take a risk, when your a good player then the goals that you set to play can be easier to obtain. I don't want to give the wrong impression about my play I really do play discipline and patient and I am really excited to keep up the good work just as long as I stick to how I play. If your interested I am up for conversation via email about anything poker. If your on the site and your not familiar with me just contact Jason and he will talk to me about it. Take care and may all your pots be monster.

Online Bankroll Part 3 (Crazy Day)

    Bad Start

Here I am back again with another online post for your viewing pleasure. On friday before we left for Seattle for the weekend I played 2 online sessions for a total of just under 4 hours. I started out playing two 10/20 cent tables as normal I was good enough to start a 3rd table. I lost money on 1 of those tables then bought into a 25/50 cent table. Soon after I lost money on another table to exit out of there to buy into a 50/$1 table which sounds really dumb. I ended being up 20 bucks on 25/50 table. On the 50/$1 table I picked up I called a raise before the flop on the button. The flop was basically I was checked raised and I pushed he called with and I lost 85 bucks on that hand bringing me down a total of 110 bucks pretty much wiped all of my profit that I have so hard for on the 10/20 cent tables.

    1/2 NL

After being discouraged about the loss, I went and ate lunch with Matt I cameback was determined to at least cut some of my losses for the day. Without hesitation I went into a 1/2 NL table 6 handed. I took the approach that my back is aganist the wall but with a chip on my shoulder. I wanted to show discipline and treat this as a NL game at the casino. I ended up winning 250 dollars without facing a big threat in any hands I played very well to say the least in my opinion given the circumstance. With this nice win I am up now 283 dollars on my original buy in and now I will be playing 1 table of 25/50 cent and you guys on the site will find out how that goes.

    What I learned

This can be a bad habit and I shouldn't focus more on what my roll is, compared to me being patient and profit in the long run most definitely I need to work on that. With me saying my back aganist the wall I mean that I am risking just under half of my bankroll to cut losses for 1 day seems like a bad idea. Also, with my experience playing at some high levels I know to be patient and displine as well and just let my game speak for itself. I know that Jeff will read this and pull his hair out but this is something that I need to work on. I feel I have the right people helping me out and the right advice to take on every matter of doing this thank you for the support (You know who you are). Stay tuned for future posts on this experience and may your pots be monster.

    The Elks Lodge Part 1

    The game and the Setting

This will be another installment in my blog adventures as I plan on playing in this game twice a month. The game is 1/2 blinds and $25 max bet which works out well for this game. The place is in downtown Hood River, after walking up the stairs where they have there table it looks like a scene straight out of Rounders. Where they get there asses kicked by the cops, in the dark room with 1 light type of thing it felt like that which I thought was cool.

    Flopping the nuts

I pick up in the big blind. Someone made it 7 to go and with 3 others in the pot I most definitely called. The flop came out giving me the absolute nuts. I checked and the raiser bet out 7 the 1 other person called and I called. The turn brought a I checked again he bet 20 I raised the max of 25 and he called. The river brings a pairing the board I bet out 25 and he called and won a very nice pot to start out.

    Bluffs didn't Work

Soon after that big pot I was seeing very bad cards and decided to call a small raise with . I was heads up with the tightest player at the table. The flop comes out I bet out 12 he calls. The turn brings the I check ( Intending to check raise) and he checks. The river brings a I bet out the max and he called with a 9 so that didn't work. Later after seeing awful cards, I tried to bluff with with having a gutshot to the river to catch. Missed my draw and was called by 3rd pair so I was bleeding chips like a mother. What a bad combo of awful cards and nobody beliveing me which was a big ball of frustration at this point I was down to just under 100.

    The End

After being down to the resperator, my all in was not called with me holding I won a small pot then proceeded to flop trips twice in 10 minutes one of them cracking kings with . I was up to about 150 and looking to cash out when I said "This is my last hand" I pick up and just call the stradle. The flop comes out I bet out 13 and had 1 caller which was a loose aggressive player. The turn brings a blank and I fire out 20 bucks and was called once again. The river brings the I checked to showdown, and he fired out the max bet I called he ended up rivering the open ender. Sending me back down to 95 upon which I cashed out immediately after the hand.

    Food for Thought

With this loss of 105 of because I bought in for 200. After talking with Kalib on the way home I realized that since my big end of season 1 win in March. That I have not played the way I built my bankroll on with a little bit looser style. Compared to the tight agressive I have seen a decline. Saturday night at this game was my slap in the face on how I should go back to my playing style, I have now tumbled down to 685 in the roll and getting a bit discouraged about it. But I have to get back off the canvas and go back to the way I know how to play. I think this game will be great to go to for my " Big game" and play with the guys for my smaller game I think that is a happy medium with having fun and playing serious at the sametime. Stay tuned for more posts as I plan on playing here about once every other weekend play well and may all your pots be monster.

About my blog and a new found Inspiration

    Welcome

Hello everyone, to the people that are new to the site which will be more then normal. Based on Jason's amazing run just falling short of the final table in event 49 at the WSOP welcome to my blog.

    Intro to my Page

I would like to explain what I am talking about in my blog. I started writing for this site in October of 2007 before it came up in December. By the time the site was up I already had my 1st 8 posts plus other tournament postings. The main point of the blog is people who access the site to give me feedback on my play. Read what I need to fix or suggestions during my session that I played in.

    My Bankroll

I started an official bankroll in August of last year. Based on money I received in a class action lawsuit from a previous job when I used to live in San Diego. I then proceeded to build it into 1,400 on two different occasions. During all of my posts you will read from me doing hit and runs at the casino which built my roll up, to my biggest win at La center, writing about my trips with poker involved, to me losing 3 weeks in a row I hope you enjoy. To all of you new users I do post on here on a regular basis and I respond and post in the forums.

    Lately

In the last month and a half the games have been stagnant with the league coming to a crashing halt and the games getting less and less exciting. Also, with La Center being the same boring game at a place where I don't like playing at much. The problem is I work graveyard 4 days a week, and Spirit Mountain is over 2 hours away from Portland and that is the closest place that has no Limit around town. But with Jason's 12th place finish he has given me new found inspiration ( He is the reason why I kept my bankroll and have not spent it) to keep pursuing my bankroll goal by the end of the year.
